Air of Intrigue

  • Acrylic paint on plastic, heat bonded and then handstitched with silk threads, sequins and beads. When the stitching was finished in 'Air of Intrique' I shaped the piece to undulate and float above the surface.

I have used plastic with acrylic paint for a long time and love the vibrant results. The materials were perfect for translating ideas of performance, stage lighting, dance clothing etc. These pieces are more decorative than some of my work but I was thrilled by the life and colour in a performance by Rambert Dance Company to celebrate their 70th anniversary season.
