Hand stitch and surface darning, on dry felt and acrylic paint.
I made ‘inhale/exhale’ in the early weeks of the Coronavirus lockdown of 2020.
The human respiratory system, it’s similarities with satellite photos of the earth, lungs as continents, bronchioles as networks and the new vocabulary of the pandemic gave me my starting point.
It is about the interior and exterior, the micro and macro, and the hideous impact of this contagion on the breath of individuals and our planet.
